Mode of Examination

  • Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech): Computer Based Test (CBT).
  • Paper 2A (B.Arch): Mathematics & Aptitude in CBT; Drawing in pen-paper mode.
  • Paper 2B (B.Planning): Fully CBT.

Subjects and Structure

  • Paper 1: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry – 90 questions
    (30 each; Section A: 20 MCQs, Section B: 10 numerical, attempt 5).
  • Paper 2A: Mathematics (30), Aptitude (50 MCQs), Drawing (2 questions).
  • Paper 2B: Mathematics (30), Aptitude (50), Planning (25 MCQs).

Marking Scheme

  • MCQs: +4 correct, -1 incorrect, 0 unanswered.
  • Numerical Questions: +4 correct, -1 incorrect, 0 unanswered.
  • Drawing: 100 marks (2 questions).
  • Total Marks: Paper 1 – 300; Paper 2A/2B – 400.
NOTE

Negative marking applies. Unanswered questions have no penalty. NTA scores are used for ranking with normalization in multi-shift exams.

Duration and Shifts

  • 3 hours for a single paper; 3.5 hours for both Paper 2A and 2B.
  • Shifts: Morning 9 AM–12 PM, Afternoon 3 PM–6 PM (IST).
  • PwD candidates receive extra time of 20 minutes per hour.
